The Russian army is practicing methods of psychological warfare in modern conditions. Yesterday, March 22, the TASS news agency reported that the scouts conducted a training capture of the settlement of a conditional enemy by non-military means — using SMS mailings, drones, leaflets and negotiations.
"As part of the training, the scouts used unmanned aerial vehicles to send demoralizing SMS messages and offer to lay down their weapons. As a result of strong moral and psychological pressure and unconditional military superiority on the part of the reconnaissance brigade of the Guards Tank Army of the ZVO, the conditional enemy laid down his arms and did not resist," the press service of the Western Military District (ZVO) reported.

The ZVO clarified that the training took place in the Nizhny Novgorod region at the Mulino training ground. During the exercise, more than a thousand leaflets with materials designed to influence the psychological state of the terrorists were dropped on the settlement of the imaginary enemy. The final of the exercise was also affected by negotiations lasting about an hour, which involved interpreters.
More than 300 military intelligence officers were deployed to" suppress the terrorists". In addition, more than 50 units of military and special equipment were involved. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry has already conducted similar exercises — they used the RB-341B "Leer-3" GSM suppression system, which includes the Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicle, capable of creating a zone that blocks cellular communication sources.
