In Kerch, a solemn ceremony of the first raising of the flag on the new border patrol ships "Vulture" and "Sarych" project 03050, built for the Border Department of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Crimea, took place. This was reported by the press service of the department.
"Vulture" and "Buzzard" are multifunctional border patrol ships designed for the coast guard of the border guard service, combining the qualities of a patrol ship and a tug.
"On-board control systems allow you to track any object even on the approaches to the borders of the state, and the ability to develop high speed and perform complex maneuvers contribute to the rapid response to emerging threats to Russia's security in the border area," the border department noted.
The ships will serve in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas, stopping any attempts to cross the state border of Russia without control. No less important tasks are ensuring the safety of Russian ships going to sea and the anti-terrorist protection of ships in the Kerch Strait.
The officials and representatives of the special services who participated in the ceremony of handing over the ships wished the sailors-border guards good health, success and reliable protection of the state border of Russia.
