MOSCOW, March 21 / Radio Sputnik. The Zvezda TV channel for the first time aired footage of a once-secret military facility – a special deep-water tunnel for Black Sea submariners.
The object lies at a depth of 216 meters, its length is 800 meters, and its depth is 8 meters. The tunnel has two exits, it was used to repair submarines and load them with missiles with nuclear warheads, which were also stored there.
"The submarines of the Malyutka passed freely, and the 613 project had to be heated, while the frame was also cut off so that the submarine could go into dry dock," said Yuri Tarariev, director of the Military History Museum of Fortifications.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that six submarines of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia took up combat duty.
