The small amphibious assault ship "Mordovia" of the Baltic Fleet performed artillery fire on sea and air targets in the Baltic Sea off the coast of the Kaliningrad Region.
The Baltic Fleet is armed with two such ships of Project 12322 "Zubr" - "Mordovia" and "Yevgeny Kocheshkov", which recently returned to service after repairs at the Baltic shipyard "Yantar". These are the world's largest hovercraft landing craft.
As reported in the department of information support of the press service of the Baltic Sea Fleet, the exit of the "Mordovia" to the sea was planned. The crew created a defensive anti-submarine mine barrage in the naval training ground, and placed training bottom mines. These mines were then successfully cleared by naval artillery.
During the sea crossing, the crew of the MDKVP worked out protection against weapons of mass destruction, paying special attention to the implementation of standards for sealing the ship's hull and carrying out special treatment in case of a conditional hit in the area of radiation contamination.
The ship also carried out a naval landing on the unequipped coast. The landing involved a marine unit of the Baltic Fleet on armored personnel carriers BTR-82A. The task of the Marines was to break through the enemy's anti-amphibious defense from the sea.
