Moscow. March 15. INTERFAX-The Bastion coastal missile system and the Pavel Derzhavin patrol ship conducted a joint exercise in the Black Sea, where a Spanish Navy frigate recently entered, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet reported.
"During the exercise, the crew of the patrol ship "Pavel Derzhavin"of the Novorossiysk naval Base went to sea and worked out the task of searching and detecting the ship of a conditional enemy. After the discovery of the "enemy" ship, the crew of the PC "Pavel Derzhavin" took it to escort and destroyed the surface target with high-precision missile weapons, " the press service noted.
According to the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, the combat crews of the Bastion missile system also worked out the algorithm of actions when detecting the enemy and performed a conditional missile firing at a sea target.
"The training battle was conducted with the implementation of electronic missile launches, without the actual use of missile weapons," the fleet headquarters stressed.
They noted that the event was held in accordance with the plan of combat training of the Black Sea Fleet.
As reported by Interfax, on March 12, the Black Sea Fleet began tracking a Spanish Navy frigate that entered the Black Sea on Friday.
"The forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet have begun tracking the actions of the frigate "Cristobal Colon" of the Spanish Navy, which entered the Black Sea at 15 o'clock on March 12, 2021," the Russian National Defense Control Center (NDUO) reported.
