Istanbul. March 8. INTERFAX-A large landing ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet "Saratov" has entered the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, local information portals reported, publishing photos of its passage through the Bosphorus Strait.
According to the Istanbul sites, the BDK "Saratov" goes to the Syrian port of Tartus, where the Russian Navy's logistics base is located in the Mediterranean Sea.
Judging by the ship's draft, it was heavily loaded.
This is the ship's third trip to Syria this year. The previous ones were committed in January and February.
Currently, a Russian squadron consisting of more than ten warships and auxiliary vessels operates on a permanent basis in the Mediterranean Sea.
