MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. The nuclear-powered strategic missile cruisers Dmitry Donskoy and Prince Potemkin of Project 955A (code "Borey-A") will be laid down at Sevmash in May 2021. This was reported to TASS by a source in the military-industrial complex.
"The new" Dmitry Donskoy "and" Prince Potemkin "strategists will be laid on the "Sevmash" for the Victory Day on May 9, 2021, " he said.

The agency's interlocutor recalled that the contract for their construction was signed in 2020. According to him, the deadline for the delivery of ships to the fleet is 2026 and 2027. Each of the boats will carry 16 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
Still in service is the nuclear submarine "Dmitry Donskoy" project 941 (code "Shark"), which for a long time held the title of the largest submarine in the world. This boat previously provided tests of the Bulava ICBM.
Currently, the Russian Navy has four Project 955/955A missile carriers in service. The transfer of the project 955A "Prince Oleg" strategist is planned for this year. Three more submarines of this project are at Sevmash (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) in different stages of construction.
