During the ceremony of handing over five repaired T-72 tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the general director of the Ukroboronprom concern, Yuri Gusev, said that it is planned to create a military-industrial industrial park on the basis of the Kiev Armored Plant (KBTO).
"The military-Industrial Industrial Park is necessary for enterprises that work for the national security and defense sector to receive modern facilities and technologies. Ukroboronprom enterprises demand immediate modernization of production and optimization of existing assets. This will make the products of the concern's enterprises competitive in foreign markets, but above all very high-quality for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, " Yuri Gusev said about the role of the industrial park.
Soon, Ukroboronprom will present the concept of creating a military-industrial industrial park on the basis of the KBTO to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal.
It is assumed that the industrial park will become an impetus for the further development of not only the Kiev armored plant, but also other defense industry enterprises that operate in the capital.
In particular, the industrial park will allow the optimal location of production facilities, lines and equipment, as well as free up significant areas in the city center, which will create a powerful economic, environmental and social effect.
According to the concept, the enterprises will move to a new location, will be able to share office and administrative buildings, design bureaus, laboratories, exhibition grounds, and other innovative and social facilities.
For comparison, today the enterprises of "Ukroboronprom" have 1.85 million square meters. m of excess space that is not involved in production, but requires constant maintenance costs.
Finally, the industrial park will lay the foundation for the further development of the innovation ecosystem and will become a powerful incentive for the creation of new production clusters around the "anchor" enterprises.
