Moscow. February 25. INTERFAX - The Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov has sailed into the Barents Sea to conduct firing on land and sea targets, the press service of the Northern Fleet (SF) reported on Thursday.
"The calculation of the A-192 artillery installation will perform artillery firing on coastal target positions located on the coast of the Rybachy Peninsula. Then the gunners will work out the defeat of naval targets in the line of sight, " the report says.
It is noted that the combat exercises will be performed in the coastal area of the Barents Sea, which is closed to navigation.
"In this sea, the crew of the ship will also conduct a series of diagnostic exercises in anti-submarine and air defense, and damage control," - said in SF.
The Admiral Gorshkov frigate is one of the most modern ships of the Northern Fleet. It was built at the Severnaya Verf Shipyard in St. Petersburg and was commissioned into the fleet in July 2018.
At the end of last year, the frigate participated in the tests of the hypersonic cruise missile "Zircon", in which it performed several successful firings.
