In the Kaliningrad Region, pilots of the Baltic Fleet naval aviation performed bombing and rocket firing as part of a planned combat training.
The crews of front-line Su-24M bombers and Su-30SM multi-purpose fighters were involved in the bombing attacks on objects on the ground, the head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the BF, Captain 1st rank Roman Martov, told the Military-Industrial Courier .
Having made a flight to a given square, the pilots performed an autopsy of the ground situation. After that, targeted bombing was carried out on full-size targets, simulating command posts, engineering fortifications, manpower and equipment.
DOSAB-100T and P-50T bombs were used. They struck from altitudes of 500 to 1100 meters. The defeat of the targets was recorded by means of objective control.
Meanwhile, the Su-27 fighter jets were launching guided missiles at air targets that mimicked the planes of a simulated enemy.
The pilots practiced the tasks of detecting and destroying "planes" using suspended weapons singly and as part of a pair. As simulators of air targets, small-sized M6 aircraft targets were used. Shooting at them was carried out both during the day and at night.
As part of the exercise, the young pilots of the fighter aviation regiment performed the tasks of intercepting and destroying air targets for the first time. The lieutenants worked out the standards for dressing flight uniforms, made paired takeoffs from the airfield and launched guided missiles. In addition, they performed elements of combat with the aircraft of a conditional enemy, the role of which was performed by experienced pilots on Su-30SM fighters.
