Printed Carbine
For quite a long time, 3D-printed weapons were unreliable and often disposable crafts, which were enough for exactly one shot. But technology does not stand still, and today printed weapons are gaining more and more formidable capabilities.
In the first half of this year, the online community Deterrence Dispensed intends to publish drawings for the creation of a fully functional semi-automatic assault rifle. Along with the drawings, you will see lists of recommended printers and required components. The rifle (or, to be precise, a lightweight carbine for a pistol cartridge) is called the FGC-9-this is short for "Fuck gun control 9 mm" (To hell with the law on gun control – 9 mm). It will cost $ 100 to create it, taking into account the materials, and you will need a printer that costs about $250 to print it. In total, a functioning functional personal weapon can be obtained for $ 350, while it does not need to be registered or declared (we are talking about the United States-ed. TechCult.ru). Curiously, FGC-9 is completely legal. Its barrel is made of metal and is detected by metal detectors – this is an important factor that does not allow you to immediately ban the carbine as an illegal weapon. At least according to the norms of the current legislation of the USA. According to the reporters of the publication Slate, the ease of manufacture and non-accountability to the law have led to the fact that such homemade pistols and carbines are gaining increasing popularity among various extremist and far-right groups.
