The corporation "Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering" (MIT), which created the ballistic missile R-30 "Bulava-30", has developed a magnetic cushion train (maglev), which can, in particular, operate in unmanned mode. This was [...] reported to TASS by the general designer of the enterprise Yuri Solomonov.
The academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) noted that the goal of the project is to create a full-size technology demonstrator that would allow us to confirm the correctness of the approach to maglev used in MIT. The Hero of Russia added that the ongoing work is based on the project of a monorail transport system.
"Currently, the production of components and electrical equipment of the EPS layout is underway (electric rolling stock-approx. "The tapes.ru"). The estimated start date for sea trials is the third quarter of this year, " the general designer said.
The agency writes that " based on the results of the tests, a decision will be made on the deployment of full-scale work on the serial production of a new type of monorail transport system and their replication for the regions of the country."
In December 2020, the K-551 Vladimir Monomakh strategic missile cruiser of Project 955 Borey for the first [...] time launched four R-30 Bulava-30 ballistic missiles at once. At the same time, the American magazine Popular Mechanics wrote that the multiple launch of four R-30 "Bulava-30" produced by the K-551 "Vladimir Monomakh" of the Russian Navy looks like a "preview of the end of civilization".
