The machine " is intended for engineering support of combat work of troops in the conditions of fire impact of the enemy and the use of weapons of mass destruction by them"
MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. The Uralvagonzavod Concern (part of the Rostec State Corporation) will present the latest UBIM universal engineering vehicle at the IDEX 2021 International Arms Exhibition. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the UVZ.
The vehicle "is designed to provide engineering support for the combat work of troops in the conditions of the enemy's fire impact and the use of weapons of mass destruction," the press service informed.
As noted in the UVZ, the new engineering vehicle is characterized by an increased level of tactical flexibility. "The UVZ novelty combines the capabilities of three engineering vehicles at once: an armored repair and evacuation vehicle (BRAM), an engineering barrier vehicle (IMR) and an armored mine clearance vehicle (BMR)," the concern said.
The new machine is made with the use of components and assemblies of T-90M tanks. There are traction and auxiliary winches and a hydraulic hammer, interchangeable with an excavator bucket. The UBIM crew consists of two people - the commander and the driver. Protected crew compartment can accommodate up to three sapper.
For self-defense, the vehicle is equipped with a combat module with a 12.7 mm machine gun and a sight with a thermal imager and a laser rangefinder. The communication means are integrated into a single tactical link management system.
