The crews of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and the Air Defense of the Western Military District used air weapons during tactical exercises. The launch of unguided aircraft missiles S-13 and S-8 can be watched on video.
As the press service of the Western military district, the pilots of the helicopters Mi-8, shock Mi-35 and Mi-28N "Night hunter" was moved to the aerodrome in the Leningrad region. There they were given the task of destroying columns of automobile and armored vehicles, as well as accumulations of the enemy's manpower. To complete the task, the pilots flew both singly and as part of tactical units.
The targets were destroyed using not only unguided aircraft missiles, but also automatic aircraft guns of 30 mm caliber.
More than ten helicopters and about fifty military personnel of the flight and engineering staff of the ZVO were used in the exercise.
