MOSCOW, February 15. /TASS/. All existing radar stations (radars) of the "Dnepr", "Daryal" and "Volga" types will be replaced with new radars of the "Voronezh"type. This was announced by the head of the Main Center for Warning about a Rocket Attack of the Space Forces of the Aerospace Forces, Colonel Andrey Revenok.
"In the future, it is planned to replace all existing stations of the Dnipro, Daryal and Volga types with new radars of the Voronezh type," Revenok said in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
The stations of the missile attack warning system solve the tasks of receiving and issuing data on missile launches and missile trajectories for warning about a strike at points of state and military control. They also provide data on space objects for monitoring outer space. The basis of the ground-level radar assets of the Russian missile attack warning system consists of a new generation of Voronezh-type radars.
