Tests of the missile attack warning system in the Russian Federation have been completed
The Russian military and designers have finished testing the missile attack warning system. This system is designed to obtain data on enemy missile launches. In addition, the SRPN allows you to determine where the missiles were launched from and collects information about objects in space.
The state tests of the missile attack warning system (SRPN) have been successfully completed, said Sergey Boev, General Designer of the system, head of the Vimpel Interstate joint-stock corporation. His words are transmitted by the TV channel "Zvezda".
The creators of the SRPN plan to continue working on ensuring the security and stability of the system. Among other things, they intend to create a solid dual-band radar field. It should allow you to track in advance the launches of cruise missiles, the take-off of enemy combat aircraft.
The basis of the SRPN on the ground is the new generation "Voronezh" radar stations. They cover the borders of Russia from all sides of the world, from Kaliningrad to Krasnoyarsk.
Last summer, Russian military experts named the conditions for Russia's nuclear response to an enemy attack. The first condition is that a nuclear strike will be carried out as a response if the missile warning system warns the military that the territory of Russia or its allies has been attacked with ballistic missiles. Secondly, retribution will follow if the enemy attempts to "destroy Russia as a state". We are talking about the use of any weapons of mass destruction, including non-nuclear weapons.
Recall that on June 2, 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the Fundamentals of the State Policy of the Russian Federation in the field of Nuclear Deterrence. The document lists the main dangers and military threats to the country - among other things, it indicates the build-up of potential enemy groups on the borders with Russia, if these groups have means of delivering nuclear weapons.
The deployment of anti-missile defense and strike systems in space, the presence of nuclear weapons or other types of weapons of mass destruction in another state are also regarded by the Russian Armed Forces as a potential threat.
The Russian authorities are confident that the uncontrolled proliferation of nuclear weapons, delivery vehicles and equipment for their manufacture, as well as their deployment on the territories of non-nuclear states, poses a military threat to Russia.
The day after the approval of the Fundamentals of the state Policy in the field of Nuclear Deterrence, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stressed that Russia would never use nuclear weapons first.
"Today, Russia is modernizing weapons, as well as other strategic systems. Even more worrying was Russia's adoption of military strategies that presuppose success through the expansion of nuclear capabilities, " the document states.
