The holding company "Roselektronika" of the State Corporation Rostec with the support of the Industrial Development Fund (FRF, under the management of VEB.Russia) will launch in 2022 the serial production of digital noise-protected stations of tropospheric communication for civil purposes "Groza". The new equipment will provide communication within a radius of 230 km in remote and sparsely populated areas.
The equipment uses data transmission technology based on the reflection of the signal from the troposphere – the lower layer of the atmosphere. A minimum of two receiving and transmitting stations are required to establish a tropospheric communication line. The antenna with a diameter of 150 cm can be placed on the roof of a building, a mobile mast or a tripod. The product also includes a high-speed digital modem for tropospheric communication based on neural networks. Due to the built-in information processing algorithms, the equipment is able to "learn" during operation and isolate a useful signal from background noise. The Groza station was developed by the RPE Radiosvyaz of the Roselektronika holding and will be produced at the enterprise's facilities.
The main advantage of the new equipment over foreign and domestic analogues will be the range of communication and the speed of information flow. The equipment will allow transmitting data at a speed of up to 25 Mbit / s in the tropospheric communication mode and up to 155 Mbit / s in the radio relay communication mode.
It is expected that the main users of the equipment will be telecom operators, public authorities, energy, oil and gas companies.
