Usually, ground equipment is "taught" to swim, but you can also "teach" a boat to move on the ground. Yesterday, February 9, the magazine Popular Mechanics reported that the US Navy purchased unusual boats Iguana Pro.
For the needs of the fleet, two samples of the Iguana Pro were purchased. Popular Mechanics points out that officially tracked boats are needed to monitor shallow water, while it is most likely that they will be tested by special operations forces. Due to the possibility of land access, boats can easily be masked away from the coastline.

The Iguana Pro model was first presented at BIDEC 2017 in Bahrain. This is the first and so far the only model from the company Iguana Yachts, created for military purposes. The key difference between the military amphibious boat and the civilian versions was the Ullman Patrol Jockey seats, designed to absorb the impact of waves. This allows the landing party and the crew to perform combat missions for a long time without harm to their health.
The Iguana Pro can reach speeds of up to 75 km/h. When you press a special button, the boat releases a pair of tracked landing gear and can continue to move on the ground at a speed of about 7 km/h. The transition from the floating mode to the ground mode and back takes only 8 seconds.
