The first stage of the pilot operation of the Terminator tank support vehicle (BMPT) was completed at the training ground of the Guards Tank Division of the Central Military District in the Chelyabinsk Region.
As reported on the website of the TV channel "Zvezda", starting from December last year, the crews of the BMPT conducted a series of classes on driving, fire and technical training. In fact, it was about getting acquainted with new equipment for the army, studying its features. Representatives of the manufacturing plant helped the servicemen in this process.
The second stage of the development of the BMPT will be its use in the battle formations of tank units with shooting in various tactical situations.
As already written by "RG", the first eight "Terminators" were sent for testing to the tank division in the Chelyabinsk region at the end of last year. The BMPT was adopted in April 2018, its main task is to increase the survivability of tanks on the battlefield (especially in urban areas) with the help of powerful fire support. "Terminator" is armed with two 30-millimeter guns, a heavy machine gun, an anti-tank complex "Ataka-T". The combat vehicle is capable of hitting lightly armored targets, tanks and IFVs, and helicopters.
Earlier, the German publication Stern praised the capabilities of the "Terminator", calling it "an armored vehicle on steroids".
