Cheat.February 5. INTERFAX-FAR EAST-A system of facilities for storing ammunition and explosive materials, which is able to withstand a shock wave with a capacity of 240 tons in TNT equivalent, has been put into operation in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
"The first stage of creating an arsenal with a fundamentally new system for storing ammunition and explosive materials in the Trans-Baikal Territory has been completed. 20 storage facilities were put into operation. In total, according to the plan, more than 60 storage facilities will be built (each with an area of 1256.85 square meters). The standard service life of the structures is 50 years, " the press service of the military construction complex of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
The storage facilities are a seismic-resistant monolithic structure, covered with a layer of soil on three sides, the facades with entrance gates are protected by an earthen traverse five meters high. The margin of safety allows the structures to withstand the shock wave from an explosion with a capacity of 240 tons in TNT equivalent. This allows you to hide the ammunition supply from external influences, and in the case of an emergency situation - to exclude its spread to other objects.
Military builders also installed the latest automatic fire alarm, fire extinguishing and smoke removal systems at the facility. Two closed fire tanks are installed near each storage facility, the water in them does not freeze even in severe frosts.
