The Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched in the US state of Florida with another group of Starlink Internet satellites. SpaceX is broadcasting live on its Twitter page on Thursday, February 4.
The Falcon 9 rocket launched from the Cape Canaveral spaceport at 01: 19 East Coast time (09: 19 Moscow time). The first stage of this particular rocket makes its fifth flight, then it will traditionally land on a floating platform in the Atlantic for later use.
This is the nineteenth Starlink group that SpaceX is putting into orbit. It consists of 60 devices, the total number of launched communication satellites already exceeds a thousand.
Currently, all 60 vehicles are being put into orbit.
SpaceX announced on February 1 that it could launch a Falcon 9 rocket with an all-civilian crew by the end of this year. This will happen as part of the Inspiration4 program, the first fully commercial astronaut mission to orbit.
One of the four participants of the flight will be the founder of Shift4 Payments Jared Isaakman, the names of the others will be announced later.
Starlink is a next-generation satellite network that can provide the inhabitants of the Earth with broadband Internet access. The project was launched in February 2018. Its goal is to provide access to high-speed Internet anywhere in the world.
