The equipment on the "Boomerang" platform will be presented abroad for the first time at Aero India 2021
MOSCOW, February 2. /TASS/. Wheeled armored personnel carriers K-16 and BMP K-17 on the basis of the unified interspecific wheeled armored platform "Boomerang" received all the necessary official documents for promotion to the foreign market. This was reported to TASS by Alexander Krasovitsky, General Director of the Military-Industrial Company LLC, which produces the Boomerang.
"The cars received advertising passports and export passports. Taking into account the great interest shown to them by potential foreign customers, together with Rosoboronexport JSC, the machines will be presented in the Indian city of Bangalore at the Aero India 2021 International Air Show. In addition, it is planned to hold a number of negotiations with interested parties, " Krasovitsky said.
Earlier, Viktor Kladov, Director for International Cooperation and Regional Policy at Rostec, said in an interview with TASS that the equipment on the Boomerang platform will be presented abroad for the first time at Aero India 2021.
"Boomerang" is a promising unified wheeled armored platform developed by the Military-Industrial Company. On its basis, the K-17 wheeled BMP was created, first shown to the public in 2015 at the Victory Parade, as well as the K-16 armored personnel carrier. In the basic version, the K-17 BMP is equipped with an Epoch combat module with a 30-mm automatic gun with a paired 7.62-mm machine gun and Kornet anti-tank missiles. The K-16 armored personnel carrier is equipped with a combat module with a 12.7 mm machine gun.
Aero India is India's largest aerospace exhibition. It will be held this year in Bangalore from 3 to 5 February. Russia will present more than 200 samples of military products at the air show.
