TSAMTO, January 25. KnAAZ has implemented a project for the digital identification of aircraft components.
The work on the project was carried out in several stages. First, the specialists of the Quality management and Standardization department of KnAAZ tested barcoding as an element of automation in the production and storage of tools. In 2020, it was introduced in relation to purchased components. By the time they are received at the warehouse and the barcode is read, all information about the product has already been entered into the system by the supplier and is displayed on the storekeeper's automated workplace. The project was curated and commissioned by the Sukhoi Design Bureau.
KnAAZ uses several information management systems. One of the priority tasks is to combine the platforms where the barcode is assigned, to create a common "cloud" so that you can find information with one click from all systems.
"We try to provide for all the nuances," explained Irina Samolazova, Head of the Bureau of the Quality Management and Standardization Department of KnAAZ. – If the product does not pass technical control, the system blocks the execution of any documentation, that is, the physical movement of the part along the further technological route will be impossible."
The electronic biography of each part of the aircraft will reflect all the changes that occur with it as it is manufactured – with dates, names of performers, shift tasks, results of control checks, and so on.
In 2021, the launch and commissioning of the system in the main production will begin. When the project is fully operational, it will be replicated to other enterprises. In the future, the system of identification and tracking of aircraft components in production will become unified throughout the Sukhoi Company.
