"In 2021, a batch of ten upgraded BMP-2M infantry fighting vehicles will be delivered to the motorized rifle units of the largest tank formation of the Central Military District. Unlike the models of earlier modifications, the BMP-2M has an automatic fire control system that allows the commander and the gunner to act as a single unit during the day and at night, " the report says.
In addition, the anti-tank units of the division will receive this year more than ten self-propelled combat vehicles "Shturm-S", capable of destroying armored vehicles, including with dynamic protection, as well as air targets and structures in all weather conditions.
Also, the armament park of the military intelligence units of the tank division will be supplemented by the Sobolyatnik-O detection systems, designed to monitor the situation at a range of up to 30 kilometers and allow analyzing the parameters of targets with an accuracy of up to ten meters and classifying them, dividing them into people and equipment.
Deliveries of weapons and equipment will be completed by the end of the year.
The Guards Vitebsk-Novgorod Double Red Banner Tank Division of the Central Military District was formed on December 1, 2016. It consists of three tank, motorized rifle and self-propelled artillery regiments, an anti-aircraft missile division, a reconnaissance and engineer-sapper battalion, units and units of combat, logistics and technical support.
