It is known that armored vehicles pose a certain danger even in peacetime. It is not for nothing that warning signs are installed on military training grounds, where tanks, IFVs and other combat vehicles maneuver, calling for increased attention.
Apparently, this was forgotten by the members of the film crew who were present at the exercises of the British army. They watched as the heavy Challenger 2, accompanied by the MCV-80 Warrior, attacked the simulated enemy.
The author of the video clarified that a video about the safe operation of tanks was filmed at the training ground. The first take was unsuccessful, as the shooting was prevented by a cloud of dust raised by the tank. After that, the film crew moved to another place, and the car was also driven there.
At some point, the BMP hiding behind the bushes, menacingly clanking tracks and growling engine, began to move back at high speed and ran over a Suzuki Vitara car belonging to one of the journalists.
A collision with a 23-ton infantry fighting vehicle had fatal consequences for the crossover-the front part was completely crushed. After such serious damage, the car was unlikely to be restored.
The incident made such a strong impression on the military that they even stopped conducting training operations.
The victim later recalled that the insurers could barely contain their laughter when he called them and told them the details of what had happened.
The problem of viewing when moving forward aft is currently solved in many armies by the installation of television cameras. Such equipment is available not only on the advanced T-14 tanks of the Armata platform, but also on the T-72B3M, T-90M and export T-72B1MS "White Eagle".
