Over the Baltic Sea, near the Kaliningrad coast, there were simulated air battles of the Baltic Fleet's naval aviation fighter squadron.
The flights were scheduled, according to the information support department of the press service of the Far Eastern Federal District for the Baltic Fleet. During the tactical confrontation, the crews of the Su-27 and Su-30SM fighters alternately conducted training on the search, detection and destruction of "enemy" aircraft.
When performing various elements of combat training in the sky, the piloting technique was practiced. The pilots conducted offensive and defensive maneuvers at different altitudes and at different times of the day.
According to the ministry, the flight routes of the Russian fighters were coordinated with the air traffic control authorities and were carried out in strict accordance with the international rules for the use of airspace over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea.

On the eve of the pilots of all types of aircraft of the Baltic Fleet marine Aviation conducted the first scheduled flights this year over the mainland of the region and over the sea. The crews of the Su-30SM, Su-24, and Su-27 aircraft, Mi-24 attack helicopters, Mi-8 transport helicopters, and Ka-27 shipboard helicopters completed their mission tests. In total, about 30 aircraft were involved in the flights of naval aviation.
