She was laid down in 1976, and for a long time she held the title of the largest submarine. This title has only recently passed to the nuclear submarine "Belgorod".
The body of the Dmitry Donskoy is made with the use of strong titanium alloys. Impressive and weapons: up to 20 ballistic missiles, as well as six torpedo tubes.
After technical re-equipment, the Dmitry Donskoy received a new assignment and became a platform for testing Bulava missiles.
