TSAMTO, January 19. The block-modular method implemented at Sevmash will reduce the slipway period for the construction of nuclear submarines by 18 months.
The use of the new technology for creating submarines will also improve the quality of work and reduce labor intensity by assembling the submarine hull from large block modules of a high degree of readiness.
The concept was developed by the company's specialists under the leadership of General Director Mikhail Budnichenko together with the Central Design Bureaus "Malachite" and "Rubin", as well as the Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Technologies. To implement the project, it will be necessary to develop new schemes for the organization and technical equipment of production, create new capacities and modernize existing ones. In particular, it will be necessary to build a new aggregating shop, an additional span of hull-welding production, replace the cranes of the boathouse No. 2, and modernize the transport and transmission complex.
"Among the tasks it should also be noted the introduction of advanced computer aided design, digital models, new methods of nondestructive testing, technology, manufacturing ship structures in the "exact geometry", change the procedures for hydraulic testing of the main body of the submarine – transfer test from the slipway at a dedicated site, as well as the organization of parallel production of modules of nuclear submarines and functional modules, rich equipment systems, cable tracks," – said Alexander Spiridonov, chief technical Manager for special projects and weapons design Bureau of Sevmash.
A number of tasks for the modernization of production are already being solved within the framework of the existing federal target programs and the program of organizational and technical development of Sevmash. Additional sources of funding are required for the remaining activities.
