NPO Elektromashina (part of Uralvagonzavod of Rostec State Corporation) has successfully completed tests of the remote-controlled Hunter combat module for Typhoon-K armored vehicles with a new version of the 6P49 machine gun. "The new machine gun, created by JSC "Plant named after Degtyarev" (ZID, part of the holding " High-precision Complexes "of the state Corporation "Rostec"), allows us to significantly improve the characteristics of the combat module, increasing the competitiveness of our product and putting it on a par with world leaders. The improvement of the module was carried out by the enterprise on an initiative basis, "the press service quoted the words of Sergey Abramov, Deputy Chief Designer for Control Systems of NPO Elektromashina.
According to him, the manufacturer of the machine gun in November 2020 received the letter O1 (the beginning of mass production) for its development. "In the near future, we will deliver a batch of Hunter combat modules for Typhoon-K vehicles with a new machine gun. In this configuration, the module will also be supplied for the Navy and other special equipment, " he added.
According to Uralvagonzavod, the Hunter module has recently passed field tests in Nizhny Tagil. "When using the new machine gun, an increase in accuracy and accuracy of shooting was expected, which was confirmed when shooting at targets during tests. The effectiveness of the Hunter's destruction of targets has increased by 20-30%, " the concern noted.
"Elektromashina" also developed a modification of the "Hunter" module for equipping naval equipment. In this configuration, the device is designated "Narwhal", noted in the UVZ.

For the first time, the Hunter was presented at the Army-2018 forum, after which it was developed in several modifications for different types of combat vehicles. The version of the combat module on the car "Typhoon-K" produced by JSC "Remdiesel" was first demonstrated at the military parade in Moscow in 2020.
