In August 2020, the Air Force (Air Force) The US has been exploring possible ways to use low-profile strategic bombers, in particular the B-2 Spirit, to deliver a "deep strike on an enemy target" likely related to Russia or China. Details of the held and planned military exercises are revealed by The Drive.

As Major Theodore Ellis of the 53rd Wing of the US Air Force told the American publication, in the August event held at Anglin Air Base in Florida, in addition to the B-2 Spirit, a fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighter and a secret low-profile RQ-170 Sentinel drone were involved.

In November, according to the officer, the US Air Force worked out the destruction of enemy air defense (air defense) facilities, which included, in particular, the use of an EC-130H Compass Call aircraft and an F-15E Strike Eagle fighter equipped with the Eagle Passive/Active Warning and Survival System (EPAWSS).

The major noted that in May, the US Air Force will deliver a modified fourth-generation F-15EX Advanced Eagle fighter to Alaska, with which operational tests are planned. The officer added that this aircraft is designed to solve problems "in the most difficult scenarios of the Indo-Pacific theater of operations."

"These steps are crucial to keeping the US Air Force at the forefront when it comes to the great power's rivalry with China," the publication concludes, noting that as part of the Black Flag exercise, known and secret military aviation capabilities will be tested in"non — combat tests."

In December 2020 publication Defence Blog reported that the U.S. air force on the basis Anglin spent teaching Flag Emerald ("emerald green flag"), during which were worked out, in particular, the destruction of Russian military equipment, e.g. anti-aircraft missile systems (WRU) s-400 "Triumph", a supersonic fighter-bomber su-34 and T-72 tanks.

In September 2019, the commander of the US Air Force in Europe, Jeffrey Harrigan , said that the Pentagon has a plan to break through the multi-layer air defense of the Kaliningrad region.

In August 2018, he also claimed that the United States has been actively collecting data on Russian military equipment and its capabilities in Syria for the past year and a half.
