"We will unpleasantly surprise our" partners" with the number of weapons that will be deployed on the cruiser during the modernization, "Alexey Rakhmanov, head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, told Interfax earlier about the modernization of the Admiral Nakhimov.
"Zircon" is a Russian hypersonic missile that is being tested (Tactical Missile Armament Corporation, KTRV).
In February 2019, in a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Zircon missile will be able to hit ground and surface targets at a range of more than 1 thousand kilometers at a speed of about Mach 9 (Mach is the speed of sound).
