Heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1A "Solntsepek" were overhauled and modernized, received new modern equipment, including navigation and communication equipment. The state defense order was fulfilled by the Omsk Transport Engineering Plant, part of the Uralvagonzavod concern, the press service of Rostec State Corporation reported.
On the " Sun " there is a built-in dynamic protection, GPS Glonass satellite system. This equipment makes it possible to determine the exact time, coordinates, heights above sea level and show the graphical position of the object on an electronic map. The combat vehicle is also equipped with a new R-168 radio station, switching and control equipment.
As the General Director of the Omsk Plant Igor Lobov noted, the company fulfilled all its obligations to the Ministry of Defense of Russia within the established time frame.
TOS-1A "Solntsepek" is a heavy flamethrower system that has no analogues. Designed to destroy lightly armored vehicles, buildings and structures, enemy manpower. Its caliber is 220 millimeters. It is one of the top five most popular Russian models of land military equipment among foreign customers.
