TSAMTO, January 11. Since 2012, the formations of the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) have received about 70 combat anti-sabotage vehicles BPDM "Typhoon-M". In 2021, the supply of this equipment will continue.
BPDM "Typhoon-M" was developed in the interests of the Strategic Missile Forces on the basis of the BTR-82 armored personnel carrier. It is designed to conduct reconnaissance in positional areas in the radar, optical and infrared wave bands, as well as to combat sabotage and reconnaissance groups.
The uniqueness of this machine lies in its equipment with a complex of reconnaissance means, including an unmanned aerial vehicle. "Typhoon-M" has the ability to detect the enemy at a range of up to five kilometers.
Along with BPDM, the troops receive a unique simulator for training the personnel of security and intelligence units in its use, which allows them to find sabotage groups in the invisibility zones of optoelectronic and radio-electronic means.
Thanks to its versatility, the simulator makes it possible to train the entire crew of the Typhoon-M-from the driver to the shooter of the remotely controlled weapons platform, the Information Support Group of the Strategic Missile Forces said in a statement on January 9.
