The Eastern Military District received a batch of Mi-8mtpr-1 helicopters, which are designed to produce radio-electronic interference, the press service of the district reported.
"The helicopters were delivered to the Eastern Military District on a heavy transport aircraft of the military transport aviation AN-124 "Ruslan" from Ulyanovsk. Later, the helicopters were relocated to the aviation units of the association for operation as intended, " the press service of the district reported.
They noted that the arrival of these helicopters at the end of December completed the delivery of new helicopters to the VVO troops as part of the 2020 State Defense Order.
In August last year, the concern "Radioelectronic Technologies" reported that it handed over to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation the first Mi-8MTPR-1 helicopter. "This specialized helicopter was developed by our engineering center. It is equipped with the Rychag-AV electronic warfare system, which provides group protection of aircraft and ground objects from enemy air defense.
