Moscow. January 6. INTERFAX-Special exercises to check the readiness of ship crews for combat duty were held at the Caspian Flotilla (Cfl) in Dagestan, the Southern Military District (SE) said on Wednesday.
"On the ships that took up combat duty, the crews were transferred to the round - the-clock mode of combat service, the personnel took their places at combat posts, radar stations monitor the air situation, artillery installations are deployed," the report says.
About 15 surface ships and boats of the flotilla were involved in special training.
According to the headquarters of the Southern Military District, " with the receipt of the "Combat Alert" signal, the crews worked out actions to prepare the ship for battle and campaign, technical and energy resources were transferred to readiness for immediate use, the ships were prepared to leave the base point."
The Cfl, along with the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, is a maritime component of the Southern Military District. The flotilla ensures the national and state interests of Russia in the Caspian Sea region: it conducts anti-terrorist activities, protects trade, and protects state interests in the area of oil fields.
The flotilla consists of several brigades and divisions of ships, parts of coastal troops. The flagship of the Cfl is the rocket ship "Tatarstan". The flotilla includes ships equipped with long-range cruise missiles "Kalibr" (OKB "Novator", concern "Almaz-Antey").
