Moscow. January 6. INTERFAX-Tank support vehicles (BMPT) "Terminator" and a batch of upgraded T-90M "Breakthrough" tanks will be delivered to the First Tank Army of the Western Military District (ZVO) this year, said the commander of the association, Lieutenant General Sergei Kisel.

"The tank association of the ZVO will receive a batch of T-90M tanks," Kisel said, as quoted by the press service of the ZVO on Wednesday.

According to the commander, during the modernization, " the vehicles received a fundamentally new tower and a more powerful engine."

"They are equipped with a new multi-channel sight that ensures the use of weapons at any time of the day. One of the main features of the upgraded tank is the ability to exchange data with other vehicles in real time, " the general said.

Also, he said, in 2021, "the delivery of combat vehicles to support the Terminator tanks will take place."

"The combat armored tracked vehicle BMPT "Terminator" was created on the basis of the T-90 tank. It is armed with two 30 mm guns, a heavy machine gun, and an anti-tank complex "Ataka-T". The crew is five people. The vehicle is designed to hit highly protected targets such as tanks, highly mobile lightly armored vehicles, tank-dangerous enemy manpower equipped with grenade launchers and anti - tank missile systems, " Kisel said.

The T-90M "Breakthrough" is the latest modification of the T - 90 main battle tank. The T-90M, in particular, has a new combat turret module and a highly automated digital fire control system. It was reported that the tank is equipped with climate control.

"Terminator" is a multi-purpose highly protected combat tracked fire support vehicle with powerful weapons, modern fire control devices and high maneuverability. BMPT is capable of hitting lightly armored targets, tanks and IFVs, together with military air defense to fight against helicopters and low-flying low-speed enemy aircraft.

"Terminator" for the Russian army is created on the nodes and aggregates of the main T-90A tank.

It was reported that the "Terminator" was used in a military operation in Syria.
