Specialists of the International Mine Action Center of the Russian Defense Ministry continue to work on demining the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday, January 3.

It is noted that during the entire mine clearance operation in Nagorno-Karabakh, more than 400 hectares of terrain, 151 km of roads, as well as 617 buildings were checked, of which 22 are socially significant objects. In total, more than 16 thousand explosive objects were found and neutralized.

On January 1, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reported that more than 250 objects were restored in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh thanks to humanitarian assistance from Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed an agreement on November 9, 2020, according to which hostilities will cease in Nagorno-Karabakh from November 10.

The document provides for the exchange of prisoners between the parties to the conflict, the transfer of a number of regions of the region by Armenia to Azerbaijan, the return of refugees to Karabakh and the introduction of Russian peacekeepers in the region, who monitor the ceasefire between the parties to the conflict.

Russian doctors provide assistance to local residents, conducting consultative and diagnostic reception.

Doctors from Russia have provided medical assistance in more than 150 cases since November 25, including 80 therapeutic and 70 surgical profiles, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted.

Mostly local residents complain of colds, as well as high blood pressure and the consequences after shrapnel wounds, the agency said.

Earlier, on December 24, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported that it had fully delivered humanitarian aid to the population of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Humanitarian aid includes power plants, building materials, fire trucks, and household supplies that are delivered by rail and truck.

According to the ministry, from December 11 to 23, 54 cars with humanitarian aid with a total weight of about 1.2 thousand tons arrived in the region.
