Moscow. December, 31st. INTERFAX-The new domestic VK-650V engine, which will replace imported powerplants for Ka-226T helicopters, is being created using the most modern technologies, including the use of 3D printing, a representative of Rostec said.
"A distinctive feature of the project is the active use of 3D printing technologies, which significantly reduces the production time of engine parts. About 12% of all components of the demonstrator are created with the help of additive technologies, " said the representative of the state Corporation, talking about the development of the Combined Engine Technology.
In "Rostec" said that so were made nozzle devices and body elements of turbines, swirlers of the combustion chamber and other parts.
"This made it possible to significantly reduce the time of pre-production and production of the" hot " part of the unit. We expect that the solutions developed by us will prove their effectiveness and find application in serial engines: this allows us to significantly improve the performance and reduce the cost of power plants, " the state corporation said.
The day before it was reported that a demonstrator of the new domestic engine VK-650V was made.
Deputy General Director - chief designer of UEC Yuri Smolin stated that the project involved high level of cooperation of enterprises.
"The task is to make a simple and reliable unit that has an optimal combination of power characteristics, weight and size parameters, fuel consumption and price. We plan to produce prototypes in 2021-2022, and in 2023 to receive a certificate for this engine, after which we will start mass production, "said Shmotin, whose words were quoted in the press service of Rostec.
In "Rostec" reported that the engine should go to the series by 2024.
