TSAMTO, December 29. In 2020, the engineering units of the Strategic Missile Forces continued to be equipped with special equipment. Wheeled road vehicles were delivered to missile formations located from the Tver to Irkutsk regions.
The latest KDM, developed specifically for the engineering units of the Strategic Missile Forces, will replace five samples of engineering equipment intended for the preparation and maintenance of combat patrol routes and field positions of mobile ground-based missile systems.
KDM capabilities allow you to replace the aging tracked and wheeled track-laying BAT-M, PKT, as well as the BKT-RK2 bulldozer.
According to its main tactical and technical characteristics, the modern KDM not only surpasses the listed engineering equipment in many ways, but also has a number of completely new functions. In particular, thanks to the presence of replaceable equipment on the car, military personnel will be able to carry out loading and unloading operations.
In addition, the KDM has the potential to be retrofitted with working equipment that will allow it, if necessary, to perform uprooting of stumps, dismantling of rubble and even snacking on reinforced concrete and metal products, according to the Information Support Group of the Strategic Missile Forces.
