TSAMTO, December 28. The RRS continues to supply engineering weapons to improve the maneuverability and survivability of mobile – based combat missile systems, including the Listva remote mine clearance vehicle (MDR) and the Engineering support and camouflage vehicle (MIOM).
Over the past five years, more than 30 vehicles of engineering support and camouflage, as well as remote mine clearance, have been delivered to the rearming units of the Strategic Missile Forces.
This equipment is supplied to all PGRK units that are being re-equipped with the Yars missile system.
MDR was created to increase the survivability and security of mobile ground missile system (PGRK) units on combat patrol routes and field positions, for clearing sections of the routes of movement of columns of equipment from remote-controlled minefields, radio-controlled mines and land mines.
The engineering support and camouflage vehicle provides for such tasks as engineering reconnaissance of combat patrol routes and field positions, including assessment of the load-bearing capacity of their ground bases, checking the dimensions of the passability of routes and sites, and, if necessary, their restoration (expansion), according to the Strategic Missile Forces Information Support Group.
