Moscow. December 24. INTERFAX-the Lead Corvette of the project 20385 "Gremyashchy" will be handed over to the fleet early next week, the press service of the shipyard "Severnaya Verf" reported.
"On December 29, 2020, the Severnaya Verf Shipyard will host a ceremony of raising the Naval flag on the lead Corvette of project 20385 "Gremyashchy", " the press service reported.
It was reported that the Corvette is planned to be accepted into the Navy at the end of December.
The project 20385 Corvette is designed to perform escort and strike missions in the sea zone, patrol coastal waters, and patrol service. On the "Gremyashchy" there are artillery, anti-missile, anti-submarine, sonar and radar systems, a hangar for the Ka-27 helicopter, the press service informs.
On December 10, the ship hit a cruise missile in the Baltic sea during state tests.
Earlier, the crew of the ship fired Kalibr and Onyx cruise missiles at coastal and marine targets in the White sea. In the Barents sea, he conducted artillery and torpedo firing.
Gremyashchy is the lead ship of project 20385. This is an improved version of the corvettes of the previous project 20380. From its predecessors, the new Corvette is distinguished by enhanced strike capabilities, as well as an air defense system.
Earlier it was reported that the Corvette received a universal missile system "Caliber "(eight missiles) instead of anti-ship missiles "Uranus". From 12 to 16, the number of launchers of the anti-aircraft complex "Redut"has increased. It is also armed with a 100-mm artillery unit, two 30-mm anti-aircraft artillery complexes AK-630M and anti-submarine complex "Package". The ship provides for the deployment of the Ka-27PL helicopter in the deck hangar.
The "Rattler" has a displacement of 2,200 tons, a length of 104 meters, and a width of 13 meters. Speed-up to 27 knots, cruising range-3500 nautical miles. The crew is 107 people.
It was laid down at the Severnaya Verf in St. Petersburg in 2012. Launched on 30 June 2017. Mooring trials started in January 2018. Factory sea trials began at the end of April 2019.
