Istanbul. December 24. INTERFAX-the Admiral Grigorovich Frigate, equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, entered the Mediterranean sea after passing the Bosphorus on Thursday, Istanbul websites publishing photos of its passage through the Strait reported.
Together with it, the mine-fighting ship "Ivan golubets" and the rescue tug SB-739 also passed through the Bosphorus to the Mediterranean sea.
Earlier on Thursday, the press service of the black sea fleet reported that the frigate "Admiral Grigorovich" will perform tasks as part of the permanent connection of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean sea.
According to the fleet headquarters, the ship will replace the frigate Admiral Essen, which has been performing tasks there since October 2020.
Admiral Grigorovich is a modern Russian frigate equipped with Kalibr long-range cruise missiles (developed by the Novator design Bureau and Almaz-Antey Concern JSC). Regularly performs tasks as part of the Russian squadron in the Mediterranean sea. He carried out strikes with "Calibers" against militants in Syria.
