INTERFAX-the Yakov Balyaev Minesweeper has completed a program of factory sea trials and state tests, during which the performance of all systems and mechanisms of the ship, their compliance with previously stated technical characteristics, was fully confirmed, the Pacific fleet (top) said on Wednesday.
"In the sea of Japan, a modern complex designed to search for and mark sea mines at great depths has been successfully tested," the report said.
Also during the tests, the AK-630 six-barrel automatic artillery system and large-caliber machine guns were used to defeat sea and air targets.
"On December 26, Vladivostok will host a solemn ceremony of accepting the Yakov Balyaev into the Pacific fleet," the press release says.
On October 22 ,the Yakov Balyaev arrived by Northern sea route from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok for factory and sea trials.
The project 12700 Yakov Balyaev is the fifth in the series and the fourth production ship of this project. Designed to combat all types of modern sea mines. The ship is made of reinforced fiberglass, is equipped with modern hydro-acoustic stations and an automated control system for mine action. Displacement 890 tons, length-62 m, width-10 m, full speed-16 knots, crew-44 people.
