TSAMTO, December 22. The floating workshop PM-82 of the Baltic fleet completed the transition from the Baltic to the Mediterranean sea and moored in the port of Tartus (Syrian Arab Republic).
PM-82 left Baltiysk on November 30, during the transition the ship passed more than 2.5 thousand nautical miles.
After a short rest, the crew of the floating workshop will begin to perform tasks to ensure the technical readiness of the ships of the Russian Navy task force performing tasks in this region.
The crew of the PM-82 includes specialized specialists who are able to quickly carry out various types of ship repairs. The technical rooms of the floating workshop are small workshops with all the necessary equipment. The auxiliary vessel can provide technical support to ships directly at sea and at their bases.
On Board the auxiliary vessel there is always an anti-terror group from the Baltic fleet marine corps unit.
