TSAMTO, December 22. At the training ground in the Amur region, scouts of the combined arms army of the Eastern military district conducted the first shooting using the latest AK-12 submachine gun in the winter conditions of the Far East. The weapons were checked at a temperature of-25-30 deg. C.
The scouts performed weapon targeting, prone shooting on the chest silhouettes of targets, and also worked out dynamic shooting at the army tactical shooting training complex. In addition, the servicemen checked the unification of new submachine guns with different sights and the use of magazines from the AK-74-Kalashnikov assault rifle of the previous generation.
The shooting confirmed the convenience and high reliability of the new weapon. The use of the AK-12 reduced the time to complete the task during army tactical shooting, as well as the implementation of standards and exercises, the press service of the Eastern military district reports.

The 5.45 mm AK-12 was developed by the Kalashnikov concern within the framework of the Ratnik program as an element of a promising complex of equipment for military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces. Compared to previous versions of the AK-74M, the new weapon has improved ergonomics and accuracy of fire. The manufacturer also increased the survivability of the barrel, for the production of which they began to use a new technology.
