The diesel-electric submarine of the Baltic Fleet "Dmitrov" went on exercises in the area of combat training of the fleet in the Baltic Sea in the Kaliningrad region.

as reported in the information support department of the press service of the baltic fleet, the crew is working out the elements of the l-3 course task with the performance of combat exercises in various operational and tactical situations.

in particular, "dmitrov" performed a deep-sea dive with a maximum depth of 190 meters. At this time, the submariners checked the operation of all systems and mechanisms of the submarine, worked out the algorithm of actions when controlling the ship at great depths and with various methods of surfacing. The exercise was provided by the rescue tug "SB-123".

Submariners will also have to perform torpedo firing on underwater and surface targets, perform mine laying and work out evasion from the Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter.

Dmytrov is a boat of Project 877 (Varshavyanka). These are the lowest-noise Russian submarines, which for their high stealth received the nickname "Black Hole"in the West. This feature is explained by the absence of noisy power units, a verified streamlined shape and a special hydroacoustic coating of the body.

Submarines of this series can counteract both underwater and surface ships, and are designed to protect naval bases, the sea coast and sea communications.
