MOSCOW, December 15. /TASS/. The modernized frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov" of the Pacific Fleet went to the Sea of Japan to test missile and artillery weapons systems. This was reported on Tuesday in the press service of "Dalzavod".
"The frigate will work out throwing tests from missile systems in order to check the strength of the reinforcement of launchers and ensure the safety of storing weapons on board," the report says.
According to the press service, as part of the sea trials, missile firing at a sea target and on the shore, anti-aircraft artillery firing as part of testing air defense tasks are planned. There will also be tests of electronic suppression equipment, as well as a comprehensive testing of all communication means.
During the modernization of the BPC "Marshal Shaposhnikov" project 1155 was reclassified as a frigate, that is, it became a universal ship capable of fighting ground, surface and underwater targets. The frigate received modern complexes of Kalibr-NK, Uranus and the latest artillery weapons. Thus, the firepower of the ship in comparison with the original purpose has increased several times.
