MOSCOW, Dec 11-RIA Novosti. The Russian Navy will receive about 40 ships, submarines, boats and support vessels in 2020, Navy commander Nikolai Evmenov said on Friday.
"In the past year, about 40 warships, submarines, boats and support vessels have been built for us," he said in an interview with the Russian Armed forces newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
The commander specified that in December the fleet should include the large landing ship "Peter Morgunov", the Corvette" Aldar Tsydenzhapov", the mine defense ship" Yakov Balyaev", and the Corvette"Gremyashchy".
He said that the Russian industry continues to build strategic submarines of the Borey-A project and multi-purpose nuclear-powered Yaseni-M submarines for the Navy, as well as frigates, corvettes and small missile ships.
"Serial construction of project 636.3 diesel-electric submarines for the Pacific fleet will continue," Evmenov added.
Earlier, the General Director of the United shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Alexey Rakhmanov, reported that the company's enterprises should hand over 14 ships and submarines to the fleet this year, and three of them risk not being in time. Later, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of USC Georgy Poltavchenko announced 18 "products".
