MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. UEC-Klimov JSC (part Of the United engine Corporation of rostec state Corporation) plans to produce up to 300 VK-2500 engines per year, including the latest engines for the upgraded Mi-28NM attack helicopter. This was reported to TASS in the press service of the UEC.
"UEC started assembling the first production samples of the VK-2500P engine. The production capacity of the company allows to produce more than 300 engines of the VK-2500 family per year, including the VK-2500P. Orders for 2020 and 2021 are already available, " the Corporation said.
The press service also clarified that UEC-Klimov plans to reach a production capacity of 500 engines of the VK-2500 family per year.
VK-2500 engines are equipped with mi-8/17, Mi-24/35 and Ka-50/52 helicopters. The VK-2500P modification is installed on the Mi-28NM, an upgraded version of the Mi-28N Night hunter combat helicopter. Engines of this modification have improved characteristics that meet all modern requirements for engines of this class. The key feature of the new engine is the presence of an electronic automatic control system of the FADEC type. This makes it possible to significantly improve the flight performance of the helicopter and increase its combat survivability.
