The US justified the NATO exercises in the Black sea by the actions of Russia
Former Pentagon expert Chris Osborne, in an article for the national Interest, called the us exercises with NATO allies in the Black sea a "warning for Russia". Military commentator Viktor Litovkin pointed out that Russia does not attack anyone, so this rhetoric of the Pentagon is far from reality.
Recent us exercises with NATO allies in the Black sea have once again demonstrated that, despite all the attention that Washington is currently paying to a possible Chinese threat in the Pacific, deterring Russia is still a priority for the American side and its partners, according to an article by the national Interest, written by a former highly qualified Pentagon expert Chris Osborne.
The air defense maneuvers involved aircraft designed to search for submarines, surveillance equipment, and the heavily armed USS Donald Cook, an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer based in Rota, Spain.
The ship practiced coordinated actions to exchange intelligence, communicate with each other, and combine disparate air defense sensor systems into one network, along with American Boeing P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft, canadian CF-188 Hornet, and NATO long-range radar detection aircraft Boeing E-3 Sentry.
After the exercise, which lasted from November 23 to December 4, the warship stopped for refueling and the crew celebrating thanksgiving In Varna, Bulgaria.
"The US Navy is present in the Black sea to work with our NATO allies and partners, including Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine. It is in the world's interest to maintain a stable and prosperous Black sea region and deter aggressive players seeking to destabilize for their own benefit, " the us Navy report says.
Russian submarines, it seems, can launch cruise missiles that can pose a threat to the territory of US allies. This gives new significance to air defense missions, " the article says.
In response to this, a military observer, retired Colonel Viktor Litovkin pointed out that Russia does not attack anyone, so the Pentagon's rhetoric about allegedly "containing" the Russian Armed forces does not fit with reality at all, Sputnik reports.
"Have we attacked Yugoslavia, attacked Iraq twice, attacked Libya? In one country, the President was hanged, in another country, he was torn to pieces. Who attacked whom, and who threatens whom? The United States has long been a global gendarme, a "global terrorist state" that tries to show everyone who is the boss on earth, " the analyst said.
He also stressed that Russia should not worry about the appearance of US warships in the Black sea-if they operate in neutral waters and do not violate the established rules of navigation.
"We, of course, take them on escort. They train our sailors, our pilots. Then we would fly just like that, and thanks to their activity, we train on a real probable enemy.
On Wednesday, December 2, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg accused Russia of building up power in the Black sea and Crimea.
"Russia continues to violate the territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine, continues to build up its military power in Crimea, and is increasingly deploying forces in the Black sea region," Stoltenberg said.
He added that the Alliance responds in a mirror way: it strengthens its presence on land, at sea and in the air.
In response, the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov explained that the main purpose of such statements is an attempt by the United States to justify the increased presence of NATO forces in the black sea region.
"This is a common demagogic technique-to blame a sick head on a healthy one," the politician stressed.
The head of the Russian region also noted that the strength of the Russian Armed forces located in Crimea corresponds to the existing threats and is sufficient to reliably and fully ensure the security of the region and its residents.
